Our Leadership


Based in the United Kingdom, QC Medica was founded in 2016 and comprises a team combining over 40 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry, academia and consulting. Our shared goals are to promote health research and bespoke consultancy to deliver what our clients need. Our team is active in several academic, industry, and patient organisations. Further, we aim to contribute to health policy debates within our community.

    Paul has 20 years European biotech leadership and pharma/ clini cal & medico-marketing expertise including P&L responsibility and as a consultancy company director. Driving market-leading regional team profitability & customer value proposition with pan-European experience across cardiovascular, haemostasis, renal, diabetes, stroke, surgery, post-operative pain, interventional cardiology drug & device franchises.


    Paul  holds a Masters degree in Public Health from the Nuffield Institute for Health developing a published Cochrane systematic review for his dissertation and a PhD in Medicine from Leeds University involving clinical trials research. He also holds an MBA from Oxford Brookes University & focused his elective dissertation on national screening policy. 


    Board Certified in Medical Affairs (BCMAS) and a State Registered Clinical Scientist (SRCS), Paul has extensive leadership experience in academia, the NHS and industry including Johnson & Johnson, Centocor, Eli Lilly- Daiichi Sankyo partnership, The Medicines Company, Boston Scientific, Inventiv Health, Portola Pharmaceuticals and Pacira Biosciences.

    Antony has a background in Economics and specialises in Health Economics research. He completed his PhD in Health Economics from the University of Liverpool and an MSc in Health Economics at the University of London (City), both funded by scholarships from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). 


    Antony has experience working within a range of health areas including cardiology, oncology, several rare diseases and has expertise in the evaluation of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. He has developed a keen interest in health policy debate and enjoys learning about different cultures and languages.

Rachel strives to improve the communication of complex methods and technical details.

    Rachel is an experienced health economist with an analytical mind-set and a practical approach to research. An effective communicator, combining business acumen with academic rigour. A multi-faced skillset and the ability to draw upon operational research experience, and apply this to the health care environment.

Antony P. Martin BSc (Hons) MSc PhD

  • Biography

    Antony has extensive experience in HEOR & RWE studies from consulting and academia. His research spans evidence generation and synthesis. He publishes widely in scientific journals and often acts as a journal reviewer for HEOR studies. Antony has provided expert health economic advice for a number of regulatory bodies, including NICE. 


    Antony has a background in Economics and specialises in Health Economics research. He completed his PhD in Health Economics from the University of Liverpool and an MSc in Health Economics at the University of London (City), both funded by scholarships from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
